What We’re Up To at Florida Rep Education

After an unforgettable summer filled with creativity, laughter, and standing ovations, things still aren’t slowing down at Florida Rep Education.

This summer, we mounted four full productions and three Mini Stars acts in just over a month — and every single moment was a celebration of young talent. From sword fights in Peter Pan Jr. to fierce fairy tale fun in Descendants, we wrapped our 2024 Summer Camp with hearts full and audiences cheering.

And now? We’re jumping right back in.

SHREK THE MUSICAL JR. BEGINS REHEARSALS

Rehearsals for Shrek the Musical Jr. begin Monday, August 4, and our cast is ready to bring this swampy spectacular to life! This fairytale adventure follows everyone’s favorite ogre as he sets out to rescue a princess and discovers the power of self-acceptance and true friendship. It’s big. It’s bright. It’s beautiful. And we can’t wait.

WELCOMING OUR 2025/26 ACTING INTERNS

Later this month, we roll out the welcome mat for our 2025/26 Season Acting Intern Company. These talented emerging artists will hit the ground running with our Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) shows touring throughout the school year.

We’re thrilled to welcome:

They begin their first project with rehearsals starting August 31 for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Dana Alvarez.

Miss Nelson Is Missing!

Refugee

William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Recommended for Grades 6–12 | Running Time: 60 minutes

A magical forest. A fairy feud. Four confused lovers. Shakespeare’s comedy gets a fast, fun, and student-friendly adaptation. Part of our Shakespeare in the Schools initiative, this classic is offered free of charge to SWFL middle and high schools.
