Dear Florida Rep Families,

At Florida Repertory Theatre, we believe every child should have the chance to find their voice on stage. We are thrilled to announce that applications for our 2026 Summer Camp Scholarship Fund are now officially open!

This year, our goal is to reach more families than ever before. To ensure our funds are distributed fairly and impactfully, we have implemented a new tiered scholarship system ($100, $200, and $300 awards).

How it works:

Our scholarship committee uses a standardized rubric to review applications. This process prioritizes:

· Financial Need: Supporting families where the cost of camp is the primary barrier.

· Program Expansion: A portion of our funds is specifically reserved for students who have never attended a Florida Rep camp or received a scholarship before, helping us welcome new faces to our community.

· Family Circumstances: We consider factors such as multiple siblings applying or recent household hardships.

How to Apply:

1. Complete the Online Form by  March 31st.

2. Be sure to include details in the “Statement of Need” section—this helps our committee understand your unique situation beyond just the numbers.

Our mission is to keep our stages bright with the energy of every child who wants to perform. We look forward to reading your applications and seeing you at the theatre this summer!

Break a leg,

Florida Rep Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions

1. How are scholarship decisions made?

Decisions are based on a standardized scoring rubric that considers household income, family size, and recent financial hardships. To ensure we are reaching as much of our community as possible, we also prioritize students who have never received a scholarship from us before.

2. My child has been to camp for three years. Why did we receive a smaller scholarship this year?

We love our returning students! However, our scholarship fund is limited, and our mission includes introducing new children to the arts. Because of this, our rubric gives a slight “priority boost” to first-time applicants. We hope the award still helps, and we are happy to set up a monthly payment plan for the remaining balance.

3. I missed the application deadline. Can I still apply?

Once the deadline passes, we begin distributing scholarships to those who applied on time. If you missed the window, we can place you on our Waitlist. If a family declines their award, those funds become available to waitlisted families on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. What if the scholarship isn’t enough? I still can’t afford the balance.

We understand. If your circumstances have changed significantly since you submitted your application (e.g., a very recent job loss), please contact us. While we cannot guarantee more funds, we can discuss extended payment plans or look for other local community grants that might assist you.

5. Do I have to pay the remaining balance all at once?

No! Once you accept your scholarship, you can speak with our box office to arrange a payment schedule. As long as the balance is paid in full by [Date], your child’s spot is secure.

6. Does my child have to “audition” for the scholarship?

No. Florida Rep scholarships are based on financial need and community reach, not on talent or performance experience. We want every child to have a chance to learn, regardless of their skill level.

7. If I have two children applying, do they both get a scholarship?

We do our best to support siblings! Our rubric adds extra points for households with multiple children applying. However, award amounts may vary based on the total number of applicants we receive.
