Florida Repertory Theatre is thrilled to welcome our 2025/2026 Acting Intern Company! The company officially started yesterday and already hit the ground running—jumping straight into the rehearsal room for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, adapted by Bill Kincaid.
This talented group of young artists comes to us from across the country, bringing with them fresh energy, creativity, and a passion for storytelling. Please join us in welcoming Jana Denning, Patrice Eakman, Hannah Easton, Gabriel Hunyor, Cody Klimek, and Ethan León to Fort Myers and to the Florida Rep family.
What Do Acting Interns Do?
Our Acting Interns are at the heart of Florida Rep’s Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) program, touring three plays and musicals each season to schools across Southwest Florida. This year’s touring titles are:
-
Miss Nelson is Missing
-
Refugee
-
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Performances begin touring in October and continue through May, reaching thousands of students across the region and making live theatre accessible to young audiences.
Professional Opportunities
In addition to their work with TYA, Acting Interns gain invaluable professional experience:
-
Mainstage Opportunities – Interns understudy and swing roles in our professional season in the Historic Arcade Theatre and ArtStage Studio Theatre. They also audition for open roles and frequently appear alongside our Ensemble of Theatre Artists and visiting guest actors.
-
PlayLab Festival – Each May, interns perform in our annual PlayLab Festival, a celebration of new works. They are considered for roles as new plays are selected each season.
-
Immersive Experience – Beyond performance, interns help with strikes, work Front of House, and support administrative projects, gaining a well-rounded look at professional regional theatre.
Life as an Intern
Interns live in fully furnished housing with utilities and internet included, plus access to amenities like a pool, running track, and workout facility. With rehearsals beginning in August and tours extending through May, it’s a full season of growth, performance, and professional development.
A Season of Adventure
From their first rehearsal yesterday to their final bow next spring, our interns will be an integral part of Florida Rep’s 2025/2026 season. We’re so excited to see the journeys of Jana, Patrice, Hannah, Gabriel, Cody, and Ethan unfold on our stages throughout Southwest Florida.
Stay tuned for updates from the rehearsal room, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and stories from the road as our interns bring theatre magic to students across the region! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram
