Wrapping Up an Incredible Summer at Florida Rep Education!

Created with Sketch.

As we head into the final week of Camp Florida Rep, we're celebrating another unforgettable summer filled with creativity, confidence, and outstanding performances. Over the past two months, hundreds of young performers have stepped onto our stages, built lifelong friendships, and discovered what they're capable of accomplishing in just two weeks.

Our 2026 Summer Intensive season featured four exciting productions:

  • 13 JR. (June 8-19)
  • Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. (June 22-July 3)
  • James and the Giant Peach JR. (July 13-24)
  • Alice in Wonderland JR. (July 27-August 7)

Each two-week musical intensive welcomed students ages 8-18 of all experience levels. From 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each weekday, campers immersed themselves in acting, singing, dancing, teamwork, and theatrical storytelling before showcasing everything they learned in fully staged public performances.

Now, our final production, Alice in Wonderland JR., is preparing to take the stage on August 6 and 7 at 6:00 PM, bringing another magical adventure to life. The production follows Alice as she journeys through the curious world of Wonderland, meeting unforgettable characters including the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, and the Queen of Hearts while discovering who she truly is along the way.

The excitement surrounding this year’s camps has been incredible. More than 1,500 tickets have been sold between all the camp performances, and we're grateful for the overwhelming support from our community. Seeing families, friends, and theatre lovers fill the audience each summer is a wonderful reminder of how important arts education is. These performances give our students the opportunity to shine while showing our community just how much young artists can learn, grow, and accomplish in only two weeks.

Summer camp is about much more than putting on a show. Throughout each session, students develop confidence, communication skills, creativity, discipline, and lasting friendships. Whether they are stepping on stage for the very first time or returning for another summer, every camper leaves with new experiences that extend far beyond the theatre.

While our summer camp season is coming to a close, the excitement doesn't stop here.

Next Up: Florida Rep Conservatory

This August, Florida Rep Education launches its Conservatory Program, designed for young artists who are ready to take the next step in their theatrical journey. The Conservatory provides students with an introduction to the professional world through a real regional theatre experience, giving them the opportunity to rehearse and perform in one of Southwest Florida's premier professional theatres.

This fall's production is Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock: Young Actors Edition.

Based on the hit 2003 film, School of Rock follows Dewey Finn, a struggling rock musician who poses as a substitute teacher and transforms a classroom of high-achieving students into an unforgettable rock band. Filled with humor, heart, and energetic music, the show celebrates the power of self-expression, teamwork, and believing in yourself.

Conservatory Schedule

  • Rehearsals: August 10-September 17, 2026
  • Performances: September 18-20 and September 25-27, 2026
  • Location: Historic Arcade Theatre in Downtown Fort Myers

As we wrap up another amazing summer, we'd like to thank every student, parent, teaching artist, volunteer, and audience member who helped make Camp Florida Rep such a success. Your enthusiasm and support continue to inspire the next generation of performers.

We hope you'll join us for our performances of Alice in Wonderland JR., and we look forward to welcoming many of our young artists back this fall for School of Rock: Young Actors Edition.
